history:

Kestrelkit was born to a loyal RiverClan warrior who loved and cared for him. She would foster a sense of curiosity and friendliness in the tom, and he would usually be at the center of every game or kit meet up within the nursery. His idol was his older half-brother Eelpaw, who he looked up to a great deal.

When the time came for him to begin his apprenticeship, he was assigned to Graytail for his training. He loved it; from the swimming to the battle techniques - Kestrelpaw thrived during all of it.

To celebrate the half-way mark through his training, him and his mother Duskfall took a stroll out in the territory, but were ambushed by a group of traveling rogues. Kestrelpaw tried to fight them off, but they were outnumbered. He was left to live while they brutally slaughtered his mother. He tried to rush her back to camp, but by the time he arrived, her spirit had left to join StarClan.

When it was discovered that rogues had done this, Lionstar ordered a hunting party to extinguish the problem, though for Kestrelpaw the damange had already been done.

It was then that all of his faith and hope was ripped from him, and the tom became cold and distant to everyone around him.

Kestrelpaw later on had a bit of a slip in the river, thus delaying his warrior training by about a moon until his paw recovered from being strained. Nonetheless, he carried on and eventually was named Kestrelwing, in honor of his resilience of combativeness of his paw injury.

Now a full fledged warrior, he still stuck to himself, preferring solo patrols over connecting with any of his Clanmates. It wasn't until he had a heart-to-heart with his half-brother Eelsting that he began to get more involved in Clan life by participating in patrols with others.

This didn't stop his sometimes loud outbursts with others, as just days later he got into a rather loud argument with Bumblestep over how Sootstar should've handled the ShadowClan invasion and murder of their own.

Distraught, this caused him to flee out of camp, only to run into Petuniapaw. Seeing this as a way to leave without raising any red flags, he took the newly rejoined apprentice out of camp with him. In the territory, the encountered another missing cat by the name of Fallen. Kestrelwing grew tired of what he thought was babysitting, and instead once back at camp parted ways with Petuniapaw and Fallen, leaving them to find Sootstar on their own.

When Stormcall was announced as the new deputy, the tom felt immediate hatred for her. They had a bit of a blow-out during one of his patrol reporting, but came to a sort of mutual respect - though, he still doesn't trust her fully quite yet.

A little while later, it was discovered that Sootstar, Stormcall, and Sparrowskip were all missing. He didn't quite care much about the deputy and medicine cat, but took Sootstar leaving hard.

After leading a search and rescue patrol with no luck, he ended up running into the former leader in the territory. He finally got to say his piece, letting out all the moons of dislike and hatred he had for Sootstar. Their argument ended in Sootstar passing out and Kestrelwing returning back to camp to report his findings to Lionstorm and Snakepaw.
