Applekit was born out of a late litter between Ambermoon and a rogue. Her father's identity is unknown to her, and all she knows is the walls of the ThunderClan camp. She spent many of her early days napping and sleeping by her mothers side - until the day that Ambermoon passed away.

 

Shortly after this, her brother Acepaw left the Clan as well, wrecked by grief at his mothers death. This left Applekit essentially alone, but hardly hindered the kit. She went on to start practicing for her warrior training, participating in games such as Clan, or battling, or chase. She didn't concern herself with moss-ball games anymore, stating that she needed every second she could to prepare for her apprenticeship. 

 

On the day of her apprentice ceremony, she received her name along with her best friend Tinypaw and became Applepaw. She was apprenticed to Falconglare for her training. 

 

Not even a couple days later a pack of coyotes attacked the camp. At first, Applepaw tried to take on the coyotes but was stopped when Lionpaw intercepted her. Against her arguments, she decided she'd be of most help with Frostpaw and Rainywhisker since she possessed no battle training. 

 

While helping the two medicine cats, she witness one of the coyotes kill Buckstar. Enraged and infuriated, she charged in to help but was instead tackled by a coyote that managed to get a snap in at her face. With the bite it took out her eye and ear, and left deep scratches.

 

She was quickly brought into the medicine den where Frostpaw attended to her wounds, saving her from more damange.
